Sunflowers always turn their faces towards the sun. In some ways, I think that makes it the perfect plant for symbolizing our search not only for happiness but truth and hope and all those other things that might be considered guiding lights in our lives.

This is part of a series that was inspired by a real story I heard where the sight of a row of baby quail running in a line after their parents lifted a man's spirits and reminded him of the beauty of the world.
